Oregon National Register and Survey Program
Charles Applegate House, Drain
Oregon's National Register and Survey Program is part of the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), located within the Heritage Programs division of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The program assists property owners, governments, and interested citizens in identifying and listing Oregon's most historically important resources in the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register is the nation's official list of buildings, structures, districts, sites and objects significant in American history, architecture, archaeology, and culture, and is maintained by the National Park Service in Washington D.C.

* You will need to enroll for courses via iLearn (see link below) AND also register for the webinar offered through Go To Meeting. The website link to register for the Go To Meeting webinar is located under the Course Event Title (click the + sign next to the Section Title to view the Event Title) in iLearn or under the Event Title in your confirmation email from iLearn.

GIS Supplement for Survey Guidelines
Beginning in 2010, the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) will be adding a Geographic Information System (GIS) component to its historic sites information system in an effort to make historic sites information more accessible and useful. The SHPO strongly encourages surveyors to begin collecting latitude and longitude coordinates for each resource surveyed and recording these coordinates in the Oregon Historic Sites Database.
