New Oregon Historic Sites Database Features Released
Several new features have been released for the Oregon Historic Sites Database that will aid government agencies, heritage organizations, and anyone interested in learning more about Oregon's over 56,000 recorded historic places.
Grants are available to restore or reconstruct heavily altered building facades. The emphasis is on commercial buildings in historic downtown districts. The application deadline is Jan. 27, 2012.
Heritage Conference a joint affair in April in Salem
Registration will begin soon for the joint Northwest Archivists annual meeting and the Oregon Heritage Conference. The grand event will take place April 26-28 in Salem. The theme of this fun, multi-disciplinary conference will be ""Fertile Ground: Planting the Seeds for Restoration, Innovation and Collaboration." Mark your calendars now and make plans to attend.

Historic Cemeteries Commission holds meeting in Salem The Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries (OCHC) meeting will take place Feb10 at the North Mall Office Building 725 Summer St., rm 124A, in Salem. The public OCHC meeting will be at 1:00pm. Agenda items will include grant reports, new online volunteer training, current projects and upcoming plans. The commission will invite public comments.
