Abstract: Boundaries of Oregon's watershed councils.
Purpose:
Provide a graphic delineation of watershed council jurisdictional areas.
Supplemental_Information:
This work was completed by the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) and is up to date as of January 2009. Ashley Seim is the OWEB point of contact. This is a work in progress, watershed council boundaries may change and will be subject to review at the minimum once a biennium as new council support grants are funded. Errors in digitizing will be identified and corrected. Wherever possible, we followed fifth field HUC boundaries rather than follow exactly the input maps from the watershed councils. All such alterations were coordinated with the watershed councils. Some line segments from county boundaries were also included. There are some areas that as of yet have no established watershed council. To get the full depiction of watershed councils in the state it is also necessary to download the shapefile of umbrella watershed councils.

Process_Description:
This data was built from existing data on watershed council boundaries. OWEB regional representatives, watershed council coordinators and others were consulted to review existing data and asked to submit changes and or additions. Hard copy maps were submitted where changes were needed. Using 5th field HUCs in most cases boundaries were delineated in ArcMap 9.3 while referencing hard copy maps.
